I am wondering how others charge for a company event, birthday party, bank opening or other public event.

I have found, over the years, that Birthday Parties are a waste of time. Work the Streets.
Try some Show & Shines, Community & School Fun Days, as School will be getting out soon, also track meets.
If you have street events, they close 2 to 6 blocks off on a sunday, and have vendors, try to book those. I work the parades, fireworks, New Homes Guys, Industrial areas, etc. Car lots, ( used, new, and the mechanics, RV new and used lots, etc.
Hope this helps

Cal, thank you for the reply. I do work the streets and the streets are OK. I am looking to get my business known and would not mind doing a few parties as you never know who you may meet. This is why I'm looking for pricing on events. Thanks again.

I won't drive 15 miles away to do a birthday party for 15 kids without charging a fee cause it just plain isn't worth it. If the same size party is on my normal route, sure I'll do it and i'll just charge truck prices cause it may lead to something bigger, you never know. I was lucky enough to land an event at a college for guaranteed 750 ice creams and more to sell but it is 2 hours drive each way. They wanted a competitive quote because they contacted others. Even with a decent discount from normal prices I will still make a ton of money. Every event or party is different from the next one. What may work for one may no be good enough for another one. Best of luck to you.
