It is well know that competition is good thing, however in our business one MUST consider safety!
In an invent that happened last weekend with a competitor's intentional attempt to run me off the road, which would have cause him and/or myself hitting a grandmother, mother, and little girl; then later that same day while waiting to turn left (south) with another car in front of me in the process turning left (north) the same drive passed myself and the car behind me on the right side at a high rate of speed, nearly causing another accident, it made me question the foolishness of some with our industries drives and owners. Then, it brings tears to my eye's!
With this, our first holiday of the season, I worry greatly about the lives of our customers, children, and industry. When we need to resort to tactics of this nature the entire industry is also at harm!! Is it worth it? Isn't there plenty of areas to go? Are the lives of the people in our communities valued less than that of the $1.00 coming in the window? Is defiling the image and view of every ice cream truck and the industry not worth anything?
Yes, we are all feeling the pinch of the current economical situation, but life is to valuable! NOTHING on earth is worth it!
Furthermore, many people would have nothing more than to do away with the ice cream man (or) woman. STOP giving them reasons and grounds to stand on!
Be safe, sensible and have a great Memorial Day Weekend!
